We are seeking a Resident Program/Activities Director to plan, develop, organize, implement and direct the activity programs that enhance the physical, social, recreational, spiritual, and intellectual needs of our residents, similar to a cruise director or event planner with an emphasis on wellness.
You will be responsible for the creation and design of the monthly activity calendar and newsletter as well as invitations, announcements and postings to attract residents to participate in the events.

Horizon Bay Senior Communities has received awards for their Live Well! Program, recognizing excellence and creativity in the health and wellness field from the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), the world’s largest association for the senior fitness and wellness industry.
Horizon Bay Senior Communities is the first national seniors housing company to offer Boston University’s A Matter of Balance Fall Prevention Program. Matter of Balance is the first program to be proven effective in reducing the fear of falling and increasing level of activities.
The schedule is mainly during the day during the week and includes Saturdays 10-4 with some occasional evening events. You may choose which weekday you have off in exchange for the Saturday coverage.
This position requires a highly organized and creative individual who enjoys working with seniors and has successful experience motivating the residents to participate in the activities. Candidate must work well independently, meeting time restrictions and deadlines.
Previous experience in health and social services field a plus. Certification is not required but encouraged.

You will be offered the challenge to organize, implement, and evaluate activities specifically appropriate for senior residents, including activities that enhance physical, social, recreational, spiritual, and the intellectual needs of the residents well being.
