I just wanted to check and see if anyone out there had some ideas for doing an activity inservice- in a nursing home setting? I thought I read awhile back of some approaches people had- I didn't want to just stand up and talk. I thought there was a suggestion of putting a pile of apples on a table and asking staff to pick one, look at it, and put it pack in the pile. Then the presenter mixes them up and asks them to try and find their apple. The thought process behind this would be to remember that not all residents needs/interests are the same and how that plays into their leisure interests. Does anyone have some creative approaches to how they inservice staff regarding the activity department?
