Our residents look forward to this annual event. Since our residents are not able to get out during Halloween, we bring Halloween to them and since our tea parties are always a hit, we merge a Halloween party with a Tea Party. Majority of our residents attended many tea parties in the past so we try to bring the essence of what they once loved with a little twist by having a theme attached to their tea parties. We normally have the entire room decorated like a Witches lair (by the way not scary at all) and we have about eight round tables set-up they are decorated very beautiful where each table can sit 7-8 wheelchairs or chairs. Everything matches from plates to wall décor. We offer our residents witches hats to go along with the theme. We also prepare a finger food menu that is inspired from the Halloween Holiday for example we might have witches fingers that are made out of string cheese for the finger and shaved almonds as the finger nails. We have a lot fun coming up with a new menu each year and a program for the party, we might have the history of Halloween, Humor about Witches, or Trivia. Every year we also crown a Queen Witch of Carillon House, the resident receives a beautifully decorated witch’s hat and a witch’s staff. We look forward for this time year for our residents to engage in socialization amongst each other and learn a cognitive game at the same time. We strive to provide programs that bring enjoyment and fun to each resident.
