debbiel 0 Report Share Posted April 24, 2012 Hi, I would like to create a Meditation Room at the Skilled Nursing Facility that I work out. I envision a space where family, residents, staff and or visitors may go to for prayer, meditation, comfort or just quiet space to reflect. Does anyone have information, resources or experience with this that they would share with me. I appreciate your comments. p.s. sorry I had posted this in the wrong category, I am new to this. Thanks, Debbie
ashleybriggs 0 Report Share Posted May 24, 2012 I would purchase a small table top fountain for the relaxing sound of water running. Set up some comfortable chairs for the residents and maybe stack large pillows in the corner for family members like would like to meditate sitting on the floor. Also, put a small CD player with relaxing music and/or nature sounds hidden under a small table or chair on a low volume. The residents will need good lighting to see getting in but maybe make a dimming lamp easily accessible from one of the chairs so they could dim the light if they want or use overhead light. Keep it simple so there is not too much stimulation. If you can paint the walls, blues and light greens are relaxing colors. Use lavendar or other soothing scents in the room as well.
