aRBeRec 0 Report Share Posted March 30, 2011 Our owner want to buy an iPad for our residents, I never used one before so I'm unsure of what to do with it. Our population is not very tech savvy, I've been giving the same few people computer lessons for a year. Any ideas?
heavenstar 0 Report Share Posted March 30, 2011 Download Kindle software to it and use it as a book. Kindle has LOTS of free books. Plus you can make the text size bigger and it can read to you. Also, you can download audible books on it and do a book club. Watch videos and movies-- amazon and netflix will let you watch from there ( I am sure there are others) Music-- the apps are endless for the Ipad. You can download a free app with a piano on it -- and then play it for real. Same with a guitar. Not to mention listening to music Email and other web programs. Easy to take your computer class to a room, do 1:1, outside-- wherever. Take on field trips and look up local things or use it as a tour guide-- wikipedia, etc. I think once you get the ipad and get used to it, you will love it and will find it hard to live without. GabbyOG0618 0 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 I think the iPad is very user friendly, even for technophobes. It may take substantial handholding and technical support for a while (maybe forever), but it's certainly worth a try. Hopefully, the residents and staff will remember to charge the gizmos. :-) BTW, for residents who enjoy playing Solitaire and Scrabble, there are easy and/or free game applications to upload. I love "Words with Friends". It's an interactive Scrabble game. Love it!!!
GinaMichelle 0 Report Share Posted May 4, 2011 Ipad's are user friendly and easier to use then a computer. If you go to your apple store, they will show you how to use one and you can see first hand how to use it. I have used one with a few of my residents to show you tube videos to them of Frank Sinatra and they loved it! Our owner want to buy an iPad for our residents, I never used one before so I'm unsure of what to do with it. Our population is not very tech savvy, I've been giving the same few people computer lessons for a year. Any ideas? The idea of using ipads with residents is a great idea! As technology continues to progress it only makes sense that activity staff merge techology into their daily programs. We have not used ipads at my facility but have used a computer program called linked senior. From my experience I would suggest starting by using the ipad to show images/photos to enhance discussion groups as well as video clips and music clips. You could also use it for 1:1 activities such as playing games like tic tac toe or hang man. Hope this helps!
marry510 0 Report Share Posted May 10, 2011 Bones Bones DVDhas been my favorite from day one. I love all the seasons of that. I was not even concerned when Zach left, he was never big fan of the charactors. I always thought it was boring, and when he returned three thought the charactors do not serve the goal that had served in the first two seasons. but I think the program has gotten really better off without him. the camera was a brilliant choice in half and I love sweets. although I like every season I say that so far Supernatural DVDthe last three seasons have been dynamite .. , but five years was amazing. Episode 100 was the best episode written performed best in the series. and remembered the story. and although I am a fan of foot bones as a link. I'm not an obsessed fan who is angry or threatening not to see if they do not understand something. As everyone has complained the lastSons Of Anarchy DVD four. but the last four has taken a very large five years. As people complain more tips on the last five. I liked it. I loved everything about it. Above all, I liked it because it is very romantic. and you know you'll be together again, closer than ever. even if they come with other side. that unite them. but anyway, I've enjoyed Lost DVDfive years. Maybe in six whole world will see his battle for him to change. after all, in the fifth season, which had fought for it throughout the season. I think it would be an appropriate modification of events. Booth is back with a new girl, bones, jealous. his battle for him to see and take it as he wanted from the beginning. that's what romance novels and movies Supernatural DVDare real facts. if it lasts a long time or not. and you know, if it was fast or predictable when things happen, the show would not be so exciting. ------------------ Buy Cheap DVD Bones DVD
