coffeecrunch 0 Report Share Posted September 17, 2010 Hello! My mom is receiving home care now, but we're thinking of other options like this adult day care. Mum is 68 and needs assistance in all activities. We want to move her to a nursing home or adult day care. We're torn between the two. We want an adult day care because there are programs and activities designed to promote health and social well-being. I think mom needs to socialize with other adults to keep her happy and energize. The only problem we're confronting now is the money her care. I inquired about the costs of nursing home in Birmingham and phew...daily room rate for private nursing home room is $170! i did some research and came across this site http://www.completelongtermcare.com ... faithful 0 Report Share Posted September 19, 2010 Hello! Hello ! I'm "faithful " I read your question about Daycare via Nursing home .I'm an activity Director for a Adult medcial Daycare center, and if she's getting Medicade and have a disabilty, she can attend a daycare center. Where I live it's only 99.00 a day which is less than your nursing home. She'll getting the things she need at the daycare as well . so check around for daycares in your area. some of the things I do are walking ,story, reading, trips, all types of parties, also word games ,jeopardy ,password and more . jsndavis02 0 Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 I don't want my mom to be in adult cares. I prefer to let her stay at our own home.
