I'm a bit unclear on what you're asking... but we take the information from the assessment to create a care plan and from there we determine or calendars and room visit needs. What I am asking is when an activity assistant starts to work in this field how do they know who to visit and for how long? I think that I came up with an answer in that he/she should look at the care plan and discuss this with the activity coordinator and then make a list of who and when they need to visit. Is this correct? Thanks

What I've done is an activity analysis of all the residents (someone who participates in activities daily wont have routine room visits, someone who never comes out will be visited daily, and then those in the middle are visited a few times a week depending on their routine and preferences)... and figured out what residents needed visits and how often, anything shorter than 15 minutes i would not consider a visit. What they do during that time depends on the person. Hope that helps.
