robbinmcarling 0 Report Share Posted March 21, 2010 I haven't gotten very far with my ideas, but I was thinking of kicking off the week with a balloon lift-off and ending the week with a ice cream social.
aRBeRec 0 Report Share Posted March 24, 2010 Well I have a theme planned out for each day... Of course Sunday is Mothers Day so we do a "Tea" - since its a day family is in and out alot we dont have anything formal just provide refreshments and fancy cookies Monday is a favorite - Bingo Marathon Day - Play bingo in am & pm and follow by a bingo boutique where they can "buy" prizes with the "bingo bucks" they earned that day Tuesday we're trying a talent show... I've had great success with this in other facilities but I'm not sure how it'll go over here I'm iffy about the rest of the week, i have entertainers books and thinking a carnival one of the days

jrphelps 0 Report Share Posted April 8, 2010 I'm having trouble with NNHW too... in the past all staff were able to dress up each day but with new owners we can't so, it makes it hard to do themes.... I'm a "go big or go home" kind of gal so, this is bumming me out
andi12502 0 Report Share Posted April 8, 2010 We are a rehab center under nursing home option in New York and tend to celebrate ourselves as a therapeutic community rather than a traditional nursing home. For instance we have a store, cafe, post office, and each unit is called Neighborhood with residents called Neighbors. Our Resident Council has come up with names for each Neighborhood instead of the medical names they are currently called. You could celebrate your community in many ways incuding ethnic and cultural differences.
Friendship1 0 Report Share Posted April 12, 2010 We decided this year to do something a little different. We are going to do a country western theme at my nursing home/LTC facility. We have three wonderful country/bluegrass bands coming, the farm is coming, we are going to do western/country idol, Big bbq at the end of the week, we are going to raffle off cowboy/cowgirl hats and bandanas, and have a hillbilly comedy show. We have linedancers and square dancers, and cloggers coming. I hope this one turns out better than my years past. We are also going to have dress up days everyday from jeans to boots to hats and bandanas..
