A New Introduction

Hi everyone,

I can't remember if I got the chance to introduce myself from before (and it's been a while since I've checked out the forums) but I'm Tim and I'm the new activity director at Cranston Adult Day Services in Cranston, RI. I started in April of last year and it's been a great deal of fun these last few months of actually feeling comfortable in a job I like. I came to activities after graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Music and wanting to get involved in healthcare (long term goal of maybe pursuing music therapy) and kind of fell into being an activity director and I have to say it's been a blast so far!

I did up the calendar for January and we're doing a "Winter Olympics" thing. I got some suggestions for it from an old edition of Creative Forecasting but I was wondering if anyone had done something like this in their facility and had any ideas for some games that we might play as part of the event. Right now I have it scheduled on two days (as in Adult Day we have seven activities going on each day) in the afternoons starting with a "torch lighting" and then there are games like snowball drop and snowball golf. Anyone have any ideas on games I might add?

Peace,

Tim
