Marketing events

My Administrator wants my activities to be presented as marketing events. The problem is most of my residents are lower functioning which means little to no participation in the morning and they are all in bed in the afternoon. I have surveyed the building in the afternoon and 4-6 alert residents participate in afternoon programs, 4 are asleep in their chairs and the rest are in bed asleep.

I don't know what to do!

Barbara , I hope this is not a silly question , but have you explained this to your Administrator in a way that he/she might not want to use the lower functioning Residents as a marketing event. We all know how difficult it can be to get lower functioning Residents to participate. Let me know what happens.... I wish you all the luck in the world on this matter...... BartMan

Hi,

I always gave our PR folks copies of my monthly newsletter & calendar. They would give these out to people who would tour the facility.

Is your facility for Alzheimer's &/or dementia type residents? If so then maybe the Admin is wanting to show those interested in admitting someone that activity programs are apart of the residents daily lives.

Be sure that if your calendar is sparse that you list all of the activities you provide on 1 calendar i.e. one-on-ones as well as group activities.

Hope this info. will be useful to you.
