Guest Guest Report Share Posted December 26, 2006 your best bet is to do activities that have a positive, relaxing response. Trying to involve this person in an activity probably isn't what this person is looking for. Your goal should be to have a decrease in the amount of negative responses ie. screaming, hitting. Try soothing music, aromas, calm settings (out of groups, if this is waht agitates. Perhaps even an area that has low lights. Hope this helps! RobinLynn 0 Report Share Posted April 20, 2007 Try a CD of nature sounds ie: waterfalls, birds, ocean, etc.... Try a video of the same or they have all types with animals, nature, etc.... Try a nice stroll outdoors, especially after meals(we all get sleepy after a good meal) I would find out from nurse when this patient gets his/her ativan and work around it Give patient something to hold, anything that feels good.
