Lecinsa,

I worked in AL for $15 an hour, but I always get my studnets to share thier salaries. Some work in NH - were making up to $18 an hour. Some of these folks were not even certified, so I guess it is the right place at the right time.

I live in houston and am a TRS - making $15 and hour so, I hope that helps.

Sorry this message is written so disorganized - I am sick

Hi, Tanya! :-)

The payscale varies widely depending on experience, education and national location. No one can make a guess unless they know more about your background and location. However, whatever the pay is...it isn't enough. :hammer:

Best wishes,

Linda Lucas, AD ;-)

I found, while interviewing a little over a year ago, that there is no rhyme or reason to the pay. I went on several interviews and was told from 10 an hour to 17 an hour. And the admin who told me 10 thought he was being generous  We deserve more....but many occupations do....we are getting there...slowly.

Just do not be afraid to ask for what you want (with in reason) and stand your ground. If you have the experience, certification, education, dedication and creativity....you will get find a match to what you need.

Good Luck,

Tiff

;-) I live in Pa. and I am a ADPC and just hired as an Activity Director 3 weeks ago and I earn $11.00 an hour. I work in a 72 bed facility and 1/2 are LTC and the other half are short term rehab patients.

Gosh...$9.50 an hour...for the past 4 years!....Others in this area make more, but my facility seems to be behind the times...Do more with less...C'est la vie!

I am moving to the Tampa, Florida area in a few months....can anyone tell me what the salary range is for Activity Directors in that area? I currently work in the northeast and make $20.80 hourly for LTC and subacute. I know the pay is a little lower down south, but how much lower? I'm scared!

I live in Florida, about 40 miles north of Tampa. I will not post my pay (we have "Sister Communities" that may join this site) I doubt if you will make as much as you are now, BUT.........Tampa has more money than Port Richey does.........by far!! So, you might get close to that. Just make sure you hit "Good" areas of the Tampa area. There is a lot of money there, but there is also a lot of low class as well. I would stick with communties that only accept "self pay" residents. That way you know they are of higher income, therefore, possibly a better company to work for. I hope this helps. There is an ad posted on this site for an AD needed in Tampa. Check out Monsterjobs.com too. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information! I will be moving to the Wesley Chapel/New Tampa area..what other towns are close by? Are most of the facilities run by a private owner, or places affiliated with a hospital system? The place I work for is run by a hospital system, and we do recieve quite a few charity patients (in for PT, etc) but that doesnt effect our salaries or yearly increases. Privately run facilities may tend to pay a little lower and not offer decent benefits(401ks, insurance, healthcare, etc)

Thanks!
