Hope 0 Report Share Posted August 19, 2005 I have been thinking that I'd like to have a Japanese themed party next April for our Annual Vounteer Banquet. Does anyone have any unique/easy/successful ideas that work with our "HUGE" budgets? I see lots of oriental items but they are usually Chinese red/black items; just a few delicate fans/umbrellas. I figured if I began this quest now, I might collect enough ideas by the time I start planning. Thanks!
Guest Guest_simplyjessie Report Share Posted August 19, 2005 Hello, I am an AD one of the ADHCC here in Los Angeles and I had that kind of concept two years ago. Let your participants/residents wear a Kimono...(that's a typical Japanese costume and tradition. If they are ambulatory you can teach them the dance; have your male participants/residents do the TAEKWONDO/JUDO/MARTIAL ARTS thing with a nice music that jives (it should be lively). Put make-up with the male or female res. so that they will look like a real JAPANESE. Serve japanese foods like: sushi; sashimi etc. You can put a lot of Parasols as a decoration...just create something out of that colorful umbrella. My seniors before took a lot of pictures and upon seeing their face they were laughing to death and very contented of what they are doing. That's it and good luck!!!
