Formula for Different Activities

Recommended Posts

Gosh, I hope and pray someone knows what I am talking about.

Years ago there was a formula for Skilled Nursing Activity requirements.  So many days a week or month that Sensory, Spirituals, Cognitive, Leisure, etc. Programs had to be met for the calendar.  I have one for Assisted Living but can not find one for Skilled Nursing any where on the net.  If anyone has that or knows where I can find it, please post here or email me ad kshutchison2013@gmail.com  I'm not sure they call it a formula but what I can remember is that it was great to have so that you could make sure you were within state requirements.

Thanks, Karen

I am not sure about wherever you are located, but I know according to my state regulations, there has to be exercise scheduled 5 days a week, and scheduled activities 7 days a week. Also, there has to be scheduled evening activities at least 2 times a week and 1:1s scheduled 5 days a week. And exclusively mens activities at least 1 time a week. Now this is all according to my corporate consultant whose job it is to keep up with all of that and make sure I have all those things on my calendar. I am in Texas by the way.

Dont know if that helps you or not!

I work in Kansas and the only one I have is for Assisted Living which came from corporate.  I'm not even sure what it is called to be honest with you so I can look it up.  Thanks for what you sent, I really appreciate it and gives me something to start with.

  • 2 months later...

I live in Washington state and I was told to have 3 physical, 3 cognitive, 3 sensory, 3 social, and 2 spiritual a week

1 men's group, 1 shopping trip outing, 1 fun outing  per month

The weekly activities were listed on a pie chart that was handed down to me from my predecessor who said it was the state requirement form she was told to follow that would guarantee she had all areas covered.  I have been doing this job for just over a year and the state seemed fine with my calendars last year when they came to check on us.  They should be along again anytime so we will see how that goes this year.  Knock on wood!!

Thank you for correcting the information that was released. I recently took the test for certification with NAAPCC and it was a very comprehensive and thorough test. It was not a simple easy test to get you certified. You had to know the information in order to complete and pass. I would recommend this avenue to anyone especially if finances are a struggle for MEPAP I & II. I did purchase the book for long-term care seventh edition and without that I would have struggled.

Celeste is awesome!! Anytime i have a question she gets right back with me and she is very informative. At first I didn't know if i was going to like the new course just for the fact my MEPAP course was the own pace and I work Full time plus have 3 kids. But i am loving it! It is very structured and with due dates I feel like i am holding myself more accountable for completed assignments sooner than later. It has actually been a beneficial change for me.. Thanks so much!!!

Good Evening I wanted to let you know that I had completed mepap 1 and had only a couple weeks left of mepap 2 so I had looked at path 2 and have taken the activities test and passed so just sending in the application. I wanted to thank you for giving all your time to us even while Kathy was ill. It didn't go unnoticed, you was a great support and helpful at ideas or even different ways of changing thoughts to positive while feeling defeated. Thank You Stacey Passa AP-BC
