Hi Linda and Ryan,

My name is Nancy and I'm also new!  I'm working on my MEPAP1 coursework and trying to get through my practicum!  Nice to "meet" both of you - hope to email you both in the future and maybe learn a lot of new activities to share with my residents.  I tend to get into a rut.

While reading through some of the other forums, there's been a lot of mention of activities carts - we've had one at the facility in which I work but nothing too exciting - any suggestions on what to have on the cart and how to decorate it?  Do you do a different cart for a different theme?  Maybe I'm over-thinking this!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi,

I'm Jess, also in MEPAP1 and trying to get through the practicum! We don't really decorate our cart. We normally have a festive tablecloth that we put on it depending on the season/holiday/occassion.

Hello my name is Rachel and i am about to complete the MEPAP1 this course can be overwhelming , The first time i did the chat i felt better because i was not the only one feeling this way in taking this course i better understand my job and my responsibility, It hard when you work 40 plus hours a week and have homework and chats and forms to do. but I'm glad I stuck it out,

Hello, I am Monica and I have been an activity assistant for about 4 years now. My manager is getting ready to retire so I was asked to take the class so that I could be ready when she leaves. I am just finishing up MEPAP 1. I have learned a lot here. I love all of the ideas that everyone shares. Especially in the chat rooms.

We do not have an activity cart in our facility but am interested in learning more about them. Also, I have been looking for some easy craft projects. Now that the holidays are over I am having trouble finding some easy fun ones. Any ideas?

Hello All,

I'm new to this site.....I work at a hospital with 25 bed limit and the activities department consists of three people.....me, myself and I.    Monigreen...an easy activity that most of my patients like is Velvet Art..and studies show that coloring relieves stress and clears the mind. I buy lots of Adult coloring books and lots of markers for this.   Hope everyone is doing well with MEPAP1 or 2!!!
