Anyone else doing a New Year's Eve Party? We can't have champagne, so we're going to toast the New Year in with sparkling white grape juice.

Besides the usual noisemakers & party hats, I'd love some suggestions for more decorations & activities.

We have entertainment, a countdown with a balloon "drop" (more like, staff stands around the room and throws balloons in the air) then new years day we spend talking and acting our traditions from around the world.

I think I'm going to have a Casino Night Party. Black jack, poker, slot machines, finger foods & sparkling grape juice In the champagne look bottles with plastic champagne glasses. I had a staff member donate a slot machine and someone else is bringing one up for us to use.

We start off with a new year's dinner: Matzo ball soup, baked chicken, green beans for money and black eyed peas for luck.

Then we have an entertainer come-- he is a DJ and does all the party dances

For decorations, this year I am going with a white/silver theme. I took lots of glass wine bottles (clear) and cut the bottom off and rolled in glue and then rolled in epsom salt. I will put a LED candle in the bottle. Add three per table with some sparkly branches coming out the top and that is my centerpeices.

I am also putting up tissue paper flowers on the ceiling and white tablecloths with twinkle lights behind them. Hopefully, it won't look too much like a wedding when I'm done.

I love the wine bottles with epsom salts! They look great!

We're going to have a "ball drop." We're making a pinata ball the 2 days prior to New Years Eve, then at the strike of "midnight" we're going to have the ball drop from the ceiling, and hopefully break apart with prizes inside of it. Cheesy, but all my residents are excited for it. We'll have sparkling grape juice and go outside for sparklers afterwards.
