Full - time, 32 hours per week, Saturday through Tuesday, other hours as needed. The Resident Programs Assistant assists the Director of Resident Programs with planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities and special event for Golden West Senior Community, Boulder, Colorado. As part of the Administrative Team, the Assistant works closely with the other team members to help deaal with issues and concerns regarding the overall function of the Activities department. Duties include but are not limited to: Leading group and individual programs for assisted and independant residents, creates flyers and maintains communication boards within the buildings, participates in Assisted Living assessments, assist residents to activities as needed, document participation of activites, assists and participates in set-up of special event and parties, maintain up to date and current knowledge on issues, concerns and changes regarding Assisted Living residents, help develope programs for residents with a wide range of interests and abilities. Person interested needs to demonstrate an ability and enthusiasm to work well with elders, concern for and an understand the needs of elders, must have good communication skills and the ability to multi task in a busy environment. Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred, experience leading activities, senior experience preferred. Computer proficiency required in Publisher and other Microsoft Office programs. Physical requirements: Ability to lift 20lbs, stand for 21/2 hours, push and pull carts up to 50lbs.,ambulate throughout entire community.
