Themed Teas/Parties

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

I currently work with numerous Activity Directors in Colorado hosting themed teas and parties. The themes include Titanic, Roaring 20s and several others. They have been a marvelous success with the residents, and I am looking for ways to provide Activity Directors the information necessary to host the teas or parties themselves without having to do *all the leg work*, and not have to hire someone to come into the facility and host the event.

I would love to hear your ideas! These teas/parties have been an enormous hit with the seniors providing a wonderful social and reminicient environment.

Thank you for your time!

Sharon

We did a Mad Hatter Tea Party. Was a big sucess. We had some excelent music along with a mini health fair. Everyone came with wild hats on even the men. We gave out prizes as well.

We've done a Ladies Tea every year for about 13 years now. We have had themes of: Black and White, Pink, Hats, Aprons, To The Nines (dress up fancy), Victorian Tea, Birthstones, Flowers, to name a few.

Have FUN!!!!

We have had teas around the world series where each month, we would feature one tea from a country and then have several tea bags of regular or flavored tea for different options. The ginger tea from India was the biggest success.

Also, we have had a High Tea for our Volunteer Appreciation, Women's Luncheon and Tea for talks on women's issues, and a Tea and Bingo Party-- the prizes for bingo are speciality teas wrapped up pretty.

I have been to garage sales and bought pretty tea cups and saucers for $0.50 (and tea pots) and stuck some flowers in them and use that for centerpeices.

Also, you can give away a Tea-Shirt as a mock prize too! Cover a plain white T in tea bags. It will be good for a laugh!
