Chet 0 Report Share Posted April 14, 2009 What is your facility doing for Mother's Day? We are doing a Mother's Day Tea with entertainment by Mini Pearl. An impersonator, of course, she does a great job and the residents love her. I will pick up some fancy treats and set out the china tea cups and saucers. I am doing the same thing--without the entertainer! I am having each lady bring her favorite tea cup. I will provide the fancy treats--finger sandwiches, various teas, gifts for the ladies, a cookie tray. The ladies brought their tea cups for the last tea we had-- it was a blast!!! Have you thought about inviting their daughters/nieces, CNAs for the luncheon?
sposu08 0 Report Share Posted April 16, 2009 That is a great idea Kori. We are having a little luncheon with cookies, coffee, tea, juice, and cold meat sandwiches. We are inviting the daughters and granddaughters of the residents in to celebrate the day. We are also having a local musician come in and play music for us. Then afterwards we are going to let them do a craft together. Hopefully this goes well. Good luck with your Mother's Day festivities. janicez 0 Report Share Posted April 21, 2009 We are also planning a Mother's Day Tea time where all the residents help making sandwiches and tea, a little bit decoration like in a typical English tea-house, which was our inspiration. So we try out having one of those typical traditional English Tea-Time-Parties. We order wonderful flowers, so we can decorate every table and there is also going to be a little band. I hope, that everything will work out fine and properly and that everyone is having a very great time and enjoys being together with the family, that is of course the most important thing. Happy residents, smiling and being happy the whole day.
