Olympics between nursing homes: starting January 29th! Winter Olympics arrives ! From January 29 to February 9, 2018, join the Winter Olympics of Nursing Homes! In July, more than 230 nursing homes competed in this worldwide competition! Several institutions will take part in a challenge based on general culture questions. Seniors will be asked to answer 32 questions per day, 16 very easy and 16 more difficult, to give all residents a chance to participate. Hello, I am new to the whole AD thing but I do love crafts, organizing, and making people smile. I am the AD at a nursing center for long term care in Louisiana. We already play bingo, pokeno everyday but not many of the residents like to do arts and crafts?? How do I get them all involved. Also I am doing an Olympics for National Nursing Home Week and any ideas would help. Also any activities that are successful would be great too. I plan on doing a "SENIOR" prom at the end of June. I have designed and had manufactured a low vision spelling card game, A to 3, suitable for ages 8 to the elderly. My father was legally blind from wet age-related macular degeneration, and I couldn't find any games to buy that he could see well enough to play. He was unable to use even large print Bingo cards. So I decided to create my own game, with my father as my initial game tester! Besides creating a game that is accessible for those with low vision, I also wanted to create a game that could be played by a large group, led by an activity staff member, that would provide some opportuni
