Hey all...Its been some time since i've been here. :-o I need some help. I have a resident who likes to fold clothes, wash clothes..yada yada. Every time someone gets her something from laundry to fold, someone else takes it away from her. I was wondering if anyone knew where/if there was a place you could order a kit from that comes with items to fold. My Admin says that we need to get one, I have looked in ENasco, S&S, and Polkarobics. She won't let me just go to the local dollar store and get the stuff. I don't know why. Probably be cheaper but, if ya'll have any ideas please let me know. THANK YOU :-D

Go to the local discount clothing store and purchase childrens clothing, infants clothing, and adult clothing...enough to put in a suitcase (oh yea get the suitcase too) and you have your kit. Mark her name in all the clothes so if they get misplaced they will eventually return to her.....no kits available....I could make you one, charge via my business.......

I have found baby clothes work best (because they are small, so cute and facilitate reminiscing). We purchase many of our supplies at garage sales, auctions and donations. I often run the clothes to laundry and have them put in the dryer for a few minutes so they are nice and warm when the residents start folding.

:-D When I worked at a Group Home for DD adults, we had Yard Sales as a fund raiser. Anyway, we would go thru the Nickle Saver and find all the yard sales with Addresses and send them a flyer asking for donations. Look for some that advertise clothes and see if you can get then to donate to you. Quite often people are glad not to have to pack things back upafter a sale. GOOD LUCK Lori

Dear CJackson,
Yard sales, thrift stores have great prices on baby cloths, curtains, womens clothes
that you can purchase. You could buy a cheap laundry basket and once your resident folds the clothes you can have her put them in there . Keep in your office and every now and then unfold them and leave in basket so she may fold them again! I hope this will help! WEDA in TEXAS
