Hey everyone! I'm having the hardest time trying to find activities for the BedRidden & Paralyzed patients. The activities I have already are storytime, music, animal visitation programs, and a few others but I need more. We have patients are our facility which are bedridden and paralyzed, but whom are fully cognitive and I feel bad for not doing more with them.

You could try puzzles for the ones that can move their arms. Trivia would also be good. You can order trivia books and ask them questions.
Card games or dominoes, checkers, chess or word games.

Have the staff get them up in a geri-chair and take them to music events.

Also the IPad has been a great tool for many residents. The apps that you can get are super.

Howdy. How about aroma and/or tactile therapy with plants? Various Teas and Tisanes will give comfort through ritual in addition to aroma therapy. There is some strong evidence that mint increases the efficacy of pain management and the scent of oranges are mood elevating. Try cooking smells too vanilla, chocolate, popcorn ... freshly baked cookies anyone?
