I am the Community life director (volunteers and activities) at a CCRC. We are currently researching joining my department with the social service department. I am not a social worker however I would be leading the social service department along with my own. We do have a full time social worker that would be under my department with a bachelors in clinical psychology. We would then also have a admission/discharge planner with a bachelor in social work that would not be under my supervision but would be in the admission department. Does anyone know of anyother nursing homes that are either considering this or have already joined the activity and social service departments? Are activity staff able to complete the social service sections of the MDS?
