We have a dedicated Alzheimers unit also. After a year of trial and error we have finally worked all the kinks out of our programming. I will fax a copy of our calendar to you also. If you have any questions let me know.

Hope this helps - I created this daily shedule for my Alzheimer's Program. I thought it was easier to build my monthly calendar from this. Plus, I posted this calendar next to the monthly calendar in case I wanted to devate from the original activity, but always stayed with the same activity domain. For example: if I had a specific Arts and Crafts activity down for the monthly activity at 11:00 and I decided to go with something else I stayed within the domain of A& C.

Alzheimer’s Daily Schedule -- from www.activitydirector.com

8:00 ADL’s

8:30 Reality Orientation

9:00 Exercise

9:30 Cognitive Therapy/Discussion Group

10:00 Snack and Hydration Program

10:30 Sequencing/Sorting Activity

11:00 Arts & Crafts

12:00 Lunch

1:00 Sensory Stimulation Activity

1:30 Recreational/Physical Activity

2:00 Special Event/Club

3:00 Reminiscing Activity

4:00 Relaxation Activity

4:30 ADL’s

5:00 Dinner

6:00 Sensory Stimulation Activity

Hi I would just like to say for your Alz. unit Cooking, Cooking, Cooking. Our unit really is into cooking. Making cookie dough, rolling it out and then let them use cookie cutters and they will have fun. Make sure you put down alot of flour first. They also seem to enjoy folding towels or rags. We also have memory boxes that they love to go through when we leave them out. Or you can have a group activity with the memory boxes. They also seem to enjoy cutting out pictures from books. Just make sure they are safty scisors. Now that its getting warmer we have a stand up garden outside for them. they really seem to enjoy that also. Hope this helps.
